And back to blogging again after a long 9 month period. And no, don’t get any ideas inside your pixel heads, I didn’t have a baby hehehe

Back to blogging and to show you some of the great places you can find in our beloved virtual world. What a better way to start than with the last work of Cica Ghost?

Most of you probably know some of Cica’s works, like Rust, Black and White World, Ghost Ville, Small Village or The Visitors. I find in her works a mix of innocence and wonder and, at the same time, her attention to details, the wonderful textures, the movement and all the ambiance makes you want to stay there forever. She is also a great photographer. You can check her photostream here

Her new build, Little Town, is no exception. Even if you run Second Life on low graphics you can still see the beauty of the place.

The first two pictures were taken on low graphics and with region windlight default so you can see how it looks. All the others are also raw from SL (windlight preset “Bristol”).

Are you still there? Log in and get to Little Town. It will be worth it!

Antony Switchblade and Peace Edenflower build Imaginaria. According to their own words “This sim was a labor of love.  Love between two people.  Love that inspired us to imagine a perfect place at this moment in time to nurture it and let it grow.”

And you feel that love in every corner and every detail. The photos don’t translate well enough the wonderful and magical atmosphere of the island.

You have to see for yourselves and while there, snap along and enter the Photo contest running until December 31st. For that send the pics full perms to Antony Switchblade and/or Peace Edenflower or join their Flickr Group.

In an attempt of joining the Christmas Spirit which seems to have taken over the whole planet, I went to check the North Pole Express of my dear friend Glossom.

Arriving at the Landing point I found myself at a train station and waiting for the train to arrive.

Waiting for the Train

I didn’t have to wait for long and off I went, straight to Santa’s workshop

All aboard

The trip was beautiful, a gorgeous landscape and polar bears looking at me in a friendly way.

Once arrived and having visited Santa’s reindeer, I decided to take a look to the rest of the North Pole.

The stables

Watched a movie at the open air cinema (a RL Christmas movie, which I even hadn’t seen before)

Santa's Cinema

Took a stroll after that and, since I have this weird thing of not following directions, I totally disrespected this sign and… well you go and try it and you’ll see what happens 😉

When I recovered from the accident, I paid a visit to the nice polar bears that were getting themselves a bit warmer by the fire.

Unexpected guests

There is more to be seen, the Santa Village, the ice-skating ring, the small island where you can sit quietly watching the landscape around, the church and so many more things (oh and some gifts scattered all over the sim).

Go and take a look and I assure you a lot of fun and nice opportunities for a good photo shooting (you can rezz there, so take your poses and props if you like)

Merry Christmas to all!

Early this month a collaborative art installation opened at MIC Imagin@rium. It features works from 25 SL artists and also involves a real-life cross-over with the Il Margutta Gallery in Rome.

This installation is based on the work of Elina Chauvet, a RL Mexican artist  who started the Zapatos Rojos project in Ciudad Juarez in Mexico back in 2009. The number of women being murdered and disappearing led her to this project. When asked why red shoes in an interview, she answered that while she was researching stories she found a common thread – shoes. “Several of the missing young women worked in shoe stores, were on their way to find work in a shoe shop, or were going shopping for shoes. This similarity caught my attention.”, she states.

The installation in Second Life is organised in a way that you can focus on each work of each artist without distractions so you can absorb the whole message. If you have some time to spare do go and take a look at this amazing art exhibition. It will be on until January 7th, so you still have a couple of weeks to go and visit.

The artists participating in this project are: Alpha Auer, Blue Tsuki, Cica Ghost, Daniele Daco Monday, Giorgio Mayo, Giovanna Cerise, Kicca Igaly, La Baroque, Lookatmy Back, Maddomxc Umino, Merlino Mayo, Mila Tatham, Mitaki Slade, Myyns Mayo, Nessuno Myoo, Nexuno Thespian, Nino Vichan, Paola Mills, Rubin Mayo, Sniper Siemens, Solkide Auer, Swina Allen, Violetta Inglewood, Viviana Houston  and Mexi Lane owner of MIC Imagin@rium.

Second Life has always hunts going on. Although I have made quite a few (both as hunter and as Gallery owner), there is one I never miss since the first – The Peace on Earth Hunt.

Every year I discover new creators and new wonderful places. This time Hanaya-Home and Garden was one of the stores with that wow factor. Not only because of the beautifully made items (mesh and low Land Impact) , but also because of the landscape surrounding the store.

Leave you with some pics (unedited except for signature) and also the picture of the item inside Globe #164.

Just like I mentioned in my last post, I found another gem last monday when doing map-hopping – The Historical Rosemount Plantation.

Landing at the garden gate, you can immediately see the beautiful stone carvings on the walls and the amazing cast iron work on the gate itself.

Front gate

I usually take a look at the “About land” just in case the places have specific rules, like RP or dress codes, and here is what was written:

Historic Rosemount Plantation is a 19 room, 1832 Southern Antebellum plantation located in Forkland, Alabama and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places by the US Department of the Interior. Built by Ethan Westland as his home in SL.

Rosemount Manor

Curious as I am, I talked to my friend Google, who knows everything, and I got the wiki page of the plantation. The manor looks exactly like the real one and Mr. Ethan Westland has made a great job. I didn’t enter the house, since it was private, but I started walking down the road among beautiful trees dressed in red and orange.

Autumn path

At the end of the path there was this little chapel with amazing stained glass windows and near by a small graveyard, not a spooky one, no worries.

Rosemount Church

I was starting to get hungry and feeling a bit tired of all the walking so I went to the apple trees nearby and decided to call it out for the day with an apple and some rest.

Yesterday I was feeling like exploring so I decided to do some map hopping. I always find it very funny and some times I end up finding some gems.

After some “You’re not allowed to teleport to that destination”, some ban lines and quite badly decorated areas I found 2 great spots.

I will show you first the Lost Paradise of Natadola. A beautiful tropical island, with waterfalls, secluded cuddling spots and a beautiful underwater scenery for scuba diving or to bring out the mermaid inside you (or that mermaid tail in your inventory that hardly sees the underwater light 😉 )

Here are some pictures, but take your better half or explore alone. The place is really beautiful.

As for the other place, keep an eye here and will follow soon.
